Our ground beef shares are special because they truly make use of the whole animal. Rather than relying on trim alone, our ground beef is made from a blend of the animal’s many delicious cuts including steaks, roasts, stew meat, and more. It’s a wonderful way to enjoy the full value of the animal, with rich, flavorful beef in every package.
We handle our cattle with mindful, humane practices and graze them conscientiously, working to build healthy soils and care for the land they depend on.
By choosing our ground beef shares, you’re not only getting flavorful, versatile beef that makes the most of the whole animal, you are supporting a small, family ran, local cattle operation that is committed to caring for the animals, the land, and keeping locally raised meat available to our community.
The total investment for an all-ground-beef quarter share is $1,215, which includes all processing fees.
Your share is based on an estimated 180 lb hanging weight, priced at $6.75/lb:
180 lbs × $6.75/lb = $1,215
After processing, an all-ground-beef share is expected to yield approximately 100 lbs of packaged ground beef (about 55% of the hanging weight).
That means your actual cost for packaged, ready-to-use ground beef is approximately $12.15/lb with processing already included.
The beef will be packaged in convenient 1.5-lb packages, giving you approximately 66 packages of locally raised, grass-fed and grass-finished ground beef.
If you love the idea of a freezer full of ground beef and desire more than 100 pounds, simply select more than one of the ¼ shares at checkout.
If ¼ share is too much, consider splitting the purchase with a friend or family member.
*Almost A Cattle Company requires a $300 non-refundable deposit to reserve your beef.
*The deposit goes towards your order total and the remaining balance of $915 needs to be paid to Almost A Cattle Company prior to picking up your meat from the processor.
